BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a globally acclaimed South Korean boy band that has left an indelible mark on the music industry. Formed by Big Hit Entertainment, the group debuted on June 13, 2013. The seven members who make up BTS are RM (formerly Rap Monster), Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
BTS gained initial attention for their unique blend of hip-hop, R&B, and pop music, as well as their socially conscious lyrics that address a wide range of themes, including mental health, self-love, and societal issues. One of BTS’s breakthrough moments was their “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life” trilogy, which included albums like “Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa Pt. 1” and “Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa Pt. 2.” The title track of the latter, “Blood Sweat & Tears,” catapulted them to international fame.
Their global success continued with subsequent albums such as “Wings” and “Love Yourself: Her,” which featured the chart-topping track “DNA.” In 2018, their album “Love Yourself: Tear” made history by becoming the first K-pop album to top the Billboard 200 chart in the United States.
BTS has consistently broken records and achieved numerous milestones throughout their career. They have a massive and dedicated fan base known as the “ARMY,” which stands for “Adorable Representative M.C for Youth.” The group’s influence extends beyond music; they have actively engaged in philanthropy and social issues, collaborating with UNICEF on the “Love Myself” campaign to end violence against children and teenagers.
